Create an initrd with dracut

Backup the current initrd

cp /boot/initrd-$(uname -r).img /boot/initrd-$(uname -r).img.bak

Create initrd for the current running kernel

dracut -f -v
-f, --force
     overwrite existing initramfs file.
 -v, --verbose
 verbose output during the build process

Create initrd for a specific kernel version

dracut -f -v /boot/initramfs-KERNEL_VERSION.img KERNEL_VERSION
